Well, Hello 2012!

It’s the first day of a new year, and I love being able to blog today. Why?

It’s because it gives me the chance to start the year like how I want to spend the rest of it — doing things I enjoy.

Blogging here at Studio Notes is one of those things. And, it’s a practice that I hope to continue with much more ardour, frequency, and tenacity.

It’s also a great way to clear the “first post of the year jitters” away and just get on with it.

With my first 2012 blog post out of the way, I can just write about the rest of the things that I wish to post here.

Like my annual Word of the Year post. And continuing the Twitter Follow Case Study. Among other things.

Glow lights and sparklers to celebrate....

As part of my Studio Notes tradition, I’d like to share some of the things that I look forward to in the new year…

Although after such an epic 2011, I’m not quite sure whether I long to have more exciting things happening to keep the momentum going… Or just wish for a slower, quieter year, so I can regroup and recover.

At this stage, the only two big things on my plate include:

1) Taking part in Connecting Up 2012 Conference as a member of the organising committee/keynote speaker/workshop helper;

and hopefully,

2) Completing my Masters’ degree in Teaching.

Oh, and I’m also looking forward to my husband’s completion of his PhD and my li’l girl officially starting school mid-year.

As always, I’ve already got my list of goals for the year. 12 things for 2012. I’m sure I’ll blog some of them in the coming days/weeks/months.

I also have a wish list of movies to see (Hunger Games, The Avengers, The Hobbit, Wrath of the Titans, etc), gadgets to own, activities and events to check out, and maybe even holidays to take.

How about you? Do you have any special plans and goals for 2012? What are the things that you’re looking forward to this year?

In any case, I wish you a fantastic year! May 2012 bring you a world of amazing possibilities…

  1. Maybe it’s good to not over plan, and regroup like you said. Whatever your year brings, I’m sure it will be wonderful. Happy New Year Shai!

  2. I wrote my usual New Year post and talked about what I hope to achieve this year here – http://flamehair.blogspot.com/2012/01/2012.html. I believe I have a really good year coming up (thanks mostly to getting my brain fixed) so notwithstanding any major disasters things are looking good. Felix starts school midyear too so we’re all very excited about that (although I think wearing a uniform is what he is most excited about ha ha!) My big personal goals relate to improving my mental and physical health so if I stick to them I’ll be in a fantastic place by the end of the year. :)

    Happy new year!

  3. i already wrote my 2012 New Year’s Resolution.

    happy new year shai!

  4. Happy new year! I know I’ve not been around much, everything has been so busy, but hopefully I’ll see more of you in 2012 – though it looks like another busy year as (like your husband) I’m hoping to finish my PhD… :)

    • Wow, sounds fantastic, Rachel! All the best with it. And, by the way, congratulations on your novel again. I’m putting it in my “to read list”. Sounds like 2012 is going to be great for you. :)
