We’re now at a dozen Web Wednesday features. Yay!
This week, there’s more Twitter goodness + multimedia toys to play with -
- Twittermeter - Type in two keywords and compare which one was mentioned more on Twitter.
- Tweetscan - A real time search engine for Twitter stuff - keywords, people, etc.
- Buttonmaker - Want to create cute buttons for your blog? This is one tool you can use. I’ve created a bunch for 52WoC and will share them soon.
- Talkr - A service that promises to convert text-only blogs in to podcasts. I haven’t fully tested this yet but I enabled it on this blog’s mailing list, so people can have the option to listen to certain posts.
- Qik - Live video streaming straight from one’s mobile phone. Only supports certain phones at this time, though. And, it’s just in alpha release.
- VoiceThread - This looks like a really fun multimedia service. You can add videos, photos, voice and documents, make slideshows, doodle on them, create presentations… You can even use with Flickr and Facebook. I’ve seen it in action but haven’t tried it yet. Looking forward to giving it a go one of these days.
- ThousandPics - A collection of 1,000 of Flickr’s most interesting pics at any given time (changes often).
- Friendfeed - Just cause everyone seems to be talking about it lately. But, I haven’t had the chance to explore it yet. Let me know if you check it out.
Anyway, hope you enjoy this week’s web finds!

How nice that my day off fell on Weds, my favorite posting day of the week! I am definitely checking out Tweetscan. Buttonmaker and Friendfeed sound interesting also. I’ve been finding some cool stuff lately while surfing and I was thinking of doing a post with my finds. Of course, it wouldn’t be a weekly thing, but your WW posts have inspired me to share the love of some of the neater things I’ve come across.
How is the journal coming along? I’m so excited to see it. The preview pages look wonderful!

Kari: Love that you love this feature. It makes it so worth it.
And yes, of course, please go ahead and share your web finds too. Would love to catch ‘em.
On the journal - still working on ‘em. Will post follow-ups in the next few days.

I tried Tweet Scan and find it very interesting. Will surely bookmark that.
I finally yield and set up my own FriendFeed after reading your post.
