I’ve said it once, and I guess, I’ll have to say it again and again: I can be such a gadget addict. Shoes and clothes don’t make me drool as much as a new electronic toy. The only thing that comes close is a good book.

Yep - that’s the li’l geek in me.

Right now, I’m really obsessing over a Wacom Graphire 3. I’m particularly interested in the digital photography kit edition.

I know that Wacom’s Intuos line is far more superior. That’s what I hear a lot anyway. In fact, when I checked out Wacom’s Tablet Wizard, the graphics tablet recommended for my use is the Intuos3 (4×5 or 6×8). Well, believe me, if I can only justify and afford it, then I’d go for it.

As it stands, I’m only going to start venturing in to digital arts in a more advanced way just now. So, I don’t know if I’m going to like it or not. Sure, it’s less messy than doing “real painting” and stuff… but, I don’t know… something about “real” brushes, paints, inks, pencils, paper, canvases, and whathaveyous really inspire me.

Sometimes, I feel as though I already stare at the computer long enough. That’s why, there are times when I wish I can do more stuff that I enjoy without the aid of technology.

But then, the lure of a cool gadget still makes me want to give digital art a go. Heh.

Hmmm… all the fuss, just because my old Photoshop software went kaput and I started looking for a replacement. I guess, it didn’t help that I found out about Illustration Friday and all the yummy pictures just made me want to create art again.

So yep - the hunt for a good value Wacom Graphire 3 - with an excellent software bundle - is definitely on. Stay tuned.

UPDATE (26/07/05; 5:46PM): Bit the bullet and purchased a Wacom Graphire3 6×8 Digital Photography Kit from eBay. Purchased it for AU$215 + shipping. Probably the most expensive thing that I’ve ever bought online. :-p I’ll be waiting for my package anxiously in the next few days or so.
