On two occasions (leaving out detail here because it would become a novel) both accusers never saw the attribution I gave. These are people who have nothing to do with me or the source of my work - just some whackjobs on message boards when quickly viewed my site when I had some questions about CSS.

Some people are just too quick to jump. On the other occasion, this person was planning on suing me over a copyright violations, but never told me where I went wrong. She just said that most of my blog had copyright violations all over it.

The funny thing is I'm an artist myself, and I have my own copyright policy. I'm not the least bit interested in stealing someone else's art work.

Ticklebug: Copying some of my work with a reference and link back to me: No problem. But, copying the whole thing without my permission (with or without a link; but worse if there's no attribution whatsoever and they're passing it off as their own work) is Not Good.

Anyway, why were you accused of such theft? And, how were they wrong?

Oh, and be careful of the "knee-jerk" reactions. Maybe that's not the case with you, but some people out there are so overly emotional about "copyright infringement" that they shoot first then ask questions later.

I have been accused 3 times already for content theft and each and everytime, they were wrong. It's no fun to be on the other end.

I somewhat understand your views on "copyright infringement", but I personally am so flattered when someone quotes text from an article I wrote on my blog and links back to me.

If they don't link back to me, then that's a problem.

Hmmm... I think that person actually meant the list to be positive. Or perhaps, I'm just being optimistic. :)

In any case, yes, it IS possible - the blogging world does offer a way for us to have support and interaction.

Good luck with your blog.

I hope I will find some time to improve my blog before I end up on the same list. We all need more support and interaction. But how to achive it in our very individualistic world?
