A lot of people seem fascinated and freaked out at the same whenever I mention that I work online.
“You mean, you get money from doing stuff on the Internet?”
When I say yes, their eyes light up and they begin asking things like, “Are these things really legit?” “How do they send you money?” “How much money do you make?”
Then, with whetted appetites, they ask how they (or someone they know) can get into it too. As soon as I start explaining about the things that I do, their googly eyes start to glaze over.
Within the first couple of sentences, they realise that it’s not all fun — nor easy — money.
Yes, it’s true that often you get 15 to 20 hour work days for very little results. Especially when you’re just starting out. And, when you’re doing things all by yourself, you often have to wear several hats (marketer, janitor, troubleshooter, salesperson, bookkeeper…) – just like in any other business.
Well, up to now, I’ve never had the chance to fully explore and explain the idea of making money online when I’m talking to someone in person. But, if given the chance, I’d probably share with them the things that I wrote in this piece: Making Money Online : A Self-Analysis.
Well, perhaps until their eyes start to glaze over… and over… and over…
