According to this article (based on a research published in the Journal of Applied Psychology), height and looks do affect one’s salary level. It actually claims that “tall people earn about $789 more per inch, per year.”
However, there are exceptions such as Danny De Vito, Verne Troyer (‘Mini Me’) and Bette Midler.
The working hypothesis? “Confidence and energy may actually be the key to success, but being beautiful certainly doesn’t hurt.”
Thoughts, anyone?

I definitely think that being physically attractive makes a difference. I decided to transform myself in grad school and decided to start wearing make-up. I went to a cosmetic counter and got a make-over and also started dressing more professionally. The attitude of the profs whom I worked with changed immediately. I was accorded more attention and status. Soon, my co-workers were even commenting on how “put together” I always was.

Hi, Lei. I just realised I haven’t responded to this comment yet. Ooops.
Anyway, yes, I do agree that to some extent, our looks do count for something. It shouldn’t. But, it does.
