On Kudos and Things That Work

I guess, like most people, I’m a sucker for praise. I can’t help it. I crave affirmation.

I’m not one of those people who become “better” when they get criticised and challenged. Negative things set me back more than they push me forward (Though I’m getting better at handling it, I think - but please don’t test me. ;-)).

Now, praise… Well, praise and encouragement make me want to climb mountains and do more than I’m usually doing.

But then, who doesn’t like praise, right?
However I do remember that once upon a time, I didn’t know how to handle praise. I never learned how to receive and to give praise properly.

But, over the years, I have come to learn to accept them more graciously. And, I’m learning to give them more. After all, if I like receiving them, wouldn’t someone else like to get them too?

Anyway, the last few days, I’ve been reading some nice things written about and for me, from friends and even total strangers. I’d like to share them all here as a way to remind ME about positive things whenever I’m feeling ‘down’, but I’m afraid I’d be teased as an ‘aerocephalus’*. So, let me just share one that made my day today:

About.com gets me into so much trouble sometimes…LOL. I can start there and go who knows where learning new things. This afternoon it is trackbacks. I have read a tutorial about them from the nucleuscms.org (creator of this blogging software), but I am not alot further than I was before. Now, this kind (and gorgeous, I must say!) Shai Coggins has been so kind to provide another tutorial, and a “hands on” tutorial at that, so I am going to “attempt” to trackback to let her know I am talking about her. Thanks so much Shai!

The gushing thanks was mostly due to this tutorial that I wrote on Trackbacks. ‘not sure if a tutorial merits the ‘gorgeous’ part, though. In any case, thanks again CC!
