Hey, Christine - I'm not a big ebook reader yet either... until now. I know I will always love "real" books more than anything... but, ebooks on the iPad IS fantastic. It's definitely a different kind of experience - and I love it. I think especially because I love kids' books and I still have li'l ones who enjoy it with me. The regular ebooks are somewhat easier to read for me on iPad as well than on the computer... Even reading newspapers and RSS feeds has become an altogether new experience. And I love it! Anyway, I can definitely understand about looking for a justifiable excuse. I felt the same way with an iPhone. Since I don't use my mobile phone all that much, and I don't imagine myself wanting to write/read much on an iPhone, I never pushed to get one. But, maybe one day soon, I'll be able to find my justification (hello, OS4! :-D)... And I'm sure you'll find a good excuse for the iPad too when the time is right! :-)

Hi, Kari. Yes, that's what I find. Different people would have different tech needs. That's why when people ask me: "Is it worth buying an iPad?" My answer is always: It depends on what your needs are. And, if you can wait for the next gen, then of course, why not, right? With the iPhone OS4 coming out, I'm actually happy that I didn't buy an iPhone yet. Sometimes, waiting is a good thing. :-) For now, I'm happy I've got the iPad. It has already served me well, and I haven't even owned it for a month yet. :-)

Hey, William! Nice to catch up with you here. :-) Thanks for sharing your own thoughts and workflow on the iPad. Looks like you're really making the most out of it! I can imagine that for serious artists/illustrators, a Wacom Intuos tablet is still a must. For a dabbler like me, having the iPad really helped me not to want one as badly. And, it's getting me to sketch/doodle more again. A great relief! And yes, like you, I'm using BlogPress for blogging - but since it still lacks a lot of the formatting features, I only use it when I'm "blogging on the go" (or in bed :-D). I heard the WP app wasn't good, that's why I went for BlogPress.

On KIDoosh - It's moving along, albeit slowly. :-) Especially since we encountered a few tech issues. Ergh! ANyway, it's still my favourite "side project"... With everything else on my plate, though, I'm not able to give it as much time as I'd like. But, we're still on the go... Thanks for checking in.

Thanks for the review, Shai. As you know, I have an iPhone 3G so can't really justify (to myself) buying an iPad. I'm not a big e-book reader (I still like the feel of paper and actual books!) and since Bea has an iPod, we can play games with it by syncing our devices.
I suppose being a techy gadget girl, I want a justifiable excuse to buy one for myself. For now, I haven't found the "right" excuse! LOL
Perhaps when the next iteration of iPad comes out, just like Kari, i might check it out again but who knows? :-)

Thanks for the review Shai! I've read other peoples', but as there tech needs tend to be completely different from mine, I was glad to ready yours. I've been debating on the whole issue for some time now between getting an iPad or a Kindle. I have an iPhone 3GS so I know the iPad does all I would be looking for (with a workable screen size), however, I am not sure if I can justify it yet. I am trying to wait until Apple gets the kinks worked out with the first gen device and hope to make it to August when the new Kindle is said to be released. Waiting is hard, but we'll see how long I can resist the gagets ;)
