I’m really curious about how different people use various social networking sites on the web. Right now, there are so many. And, with a limited amount of time, I know it’s impossible to keep up with all of them.
What about you? Do you use social networking sites at all? What do you use social networking sites for? Finding new friends? Catching up with old buddies? Staying in touch with family and friends? Promoting your work or product? How many social networks do you belong to? Do you have a favourite?

I also use Bebo, but they tried to go all like Facebook and now it’s kinda stupid. Plus I hate Facebook applications. Someone should tell everyone that you don’t have to invite absolutely EVERYONE on your friends list to also add an application. Despite this downfall, I do like Facebook best and can’t stand myspace to the point where I won’t even use it AT ALL, even to check in on someone I know.

Nicola: Never tried Bebo before. Do you like it? Anyway, yeah, I know what you mean about Facebook. I very rarely visit it now, ever since the Apps have gone crazy. Just as well there’s that ‘Ignore All’ button.
I also have a MySpace account that I never use. I’ve never really gotten in to. I keep telling myself I’ll try harder to use it, but I can’t get past certain hurdles. ;-D

I’m pretty faithful to myspace just because I’ve had it since it’s birth. I also participate in networking on facebook, quarterlife and twitter. I love that twitter is just straight and to the point. I agree with Nicola that facebook is overboard on applications. The only ones I really bother with are those that benefit a good cause such as saving the rainforest. I’m pretty new at quarterlife, but I like that it’s got a different approach and is mostly a place for creative types.

Social Networking is in my opinion a prerequisite of successful ‘blogging. So my question to you is which is your favorite Social Network? I think Myspace is the best social networking site as I use this only since my childhood, I have built a kind of trust for this. Bebo is also trustworthy.
