Since I decided to do NaBloPoMo ‘08 this month, I figured that one way to stay sane with it is to create a schedule – similar to what Melissa’s doing. My general idea is to do this for the month of November:
- Mondays – Miscellaneous Mondays (my free-for-all day, so I can blog about anything I want)
- Tuesdays – Getting to Know You Tuesday (a day for some personal sharing; from me – and hopefully from you too, my dear friends and readers)
- Wednesdays – 52WoC (to share new tasks for our blog community project and to do round-ups of participants)
- Thursdays – Reviews and Recommendations (my hope is to share reviews on anything I fancy – from books to gadgets)
- Fridays – Foodie Friday (planning on sharing more recipes, food haunts, and such)
- Saturdays – Self Portrait Saturday (just exploring self portraiture again on a weekly basis for this month)
- Sundays – Creativity Weekend (sharing some of my creative experimentation, ideas, and inspirations)
Anyway, since today’s Miscellaneous Monday, I might as well give you all an update on another project that I started some time in June – the Everyday Exploration project.
For those of you who are not familiar with this, I started launching monthly projects that I hope to do on a daily basis, regardless of the outcome. My first one was Drawing and Writing from Life (June 2008). I never blogged about it, so I’ve got no record of that one online. The second one was my first EE that I shared online – Memories of Me (July 2008). It was all about childhood memories. Then, there was Fitness Fantasy (August 2008), an exercise in getting more exercise. Then, there was Floral Fever (September 2008).
After that, I did Jane Austen Month (October 2008). But, I never got to blog about it, even though I took pics to support the event (see pic above). So, that’s why I decided to share it here now. Basically, I tried to read/watch Jane Austen books/movies. But, a month is not enough to get through all of Jane Austen’s stuff. I only managed to re-read Emma partway through, watch Pride and Prejudice (with Keira Knightley), and do some Austen-related background research. It was fun. So, I will probably unofficially continue with this exploration even if the month’s already over.
For this month’s EE… Well, since I’m already doing NaBloPoMo and NaNoWriMo – attempting to blog and write a novel everyday – well, I figured this will be my Everyday Exploration project for November ‘08. No need to take on any other project, right?

Great sched! I’m hoping to start something like that on The-Parody.com but I keep on missing days.

Sasha: Yeah, I’ve had this type of schedule for a while, but I always missed out too. But, I found it was better to have it, especially when I commit to a daily blogging schedule. That’s why I resurrected the idea again this month. I’m hoping it will help. We’ll see.

I agree – the schedule looks great! I ought to try something like that to give me some guidelines to help inspire me

Hi, Kari and blue rose. Thanks. Yes, I think having a schedule definitely helps when you’re trying to blog regularly. Usually, when I do “ad hoc” (esp. on a general blog), it’s tougher to push the brain to think of what to blog about.
Good luck with trying your own scheds! Let me know how it goes.
