I must confess: One of the reasons I’ve been looking at Amazon and eBay a lot lately is because I’ve been gadget-lusting. As in, a lot.
And, my long-running fantasy: Getting my hands on a Mac. Right now, a MacBook in particular.
I’ve wanted to try switching to Mac from PCs for a long time now. But, I’ve been scared to give it a go. But now, I’m willing to check out — and hope for the best. I think my interest in media - and some Mac-specific software that I’ve been interested in lately - have slowly brainwashed me in to believing that my semi-creative geek life won’t be complete without being a Mac user one way or the other.
I’m not sure if I’ll ditch PCs completely (after all, I still have a desktop I love and another laptop I like - both PCs). But, I certainly would love to own and use a Mac.
If you’ve been a Mac switcher, do share your stories!

Give in to the temptation! I’ll say up front that I am a career-long Mac user/addict. That being admitted, I do believe that if you can navigate a PC, a Mac will be a piece of cake.
I have a small array of Macs in my studio but my current lust is for the Mac Pro with the Dual-Core Intel Xeon processors. I had wanted to add a PC to my network so I can view my work cross-platform, but I think the Mac Pro might take care of that concern. Oh- and then there’s that gorgeous iPhone…
You probably won’t want to switch entirely because there is still a great deal of PC-oriented bias out there. But do give Mac a whirl. It’s beautiful, buttery stuff.

I’m a .NET developer on MS technology, but I’m really tempted to buy a MacBook just because it’s a cool piece of technology, and very cool
I’m planning to run Win Vista (or XP, will see later) on Parallel…

if you think the transition from PC to Mac is hard - DONT
if you think that your old files will not work with MAc- it will
if you think the cost is too much - IT’s NOT
its all worth the switch…well, i have a MAC but I have 3 more laptops, running on Windows, and I feel the difference in screen clarity, fonts, speed, security, and of course the intrinsic pogi points of opening a mac in a coffee shop and that small apple lighting up from behind

Bea: Why?
Imelda&Chaz: Hey - you’re here!
Didn’t know you were Mac folks. I really wish I can have one now.

I was lucky enough to own one of the original 128K Macs when they first came out. Sent to a publishing company that I worked for called Redgate Communications. The founder was Ted Leonsis and we produced a magazine that listed all the software available for the Mac. At the time everyone thought it was a toy. The mags job was to convice the masses that it was much more.
Anyway…I’ve been a Mac user ever since. As a matter of fact I am the lone Mac in a sea of PCs here at Broadband National. I’m envied by everyone.
Get one you’ll never go back.

You are not the only one dude. I want to buy a good notebook with OSX it isn’t funny. The prices are just to unreasonable right now. BSD or not… its just not worth it…. yet.
