Gadgets, books, and art/craft materials are my biggest buying temptations. In the gadgets department, photography gear and craft gadgets are on the top of my list at the moment.
But, other than these ‘usual suspects’, I have the tendency to get attracted to certain items when I see them too. I’m always looking at and purchasing candles, for example. I love buying them in different shapes, sizes and scents. I even enjoy looking at handcrafted candles from different countries that I visit.
Teapots, for some reason, is another object that I find interesting. I’m not sure if my mom influenced me on this one. But, I definitely love the look of them. I’d be buying more teapots if I could. At this time, though, I only have half a dozen or so in my collection. The photo of the teapot you see here is from a trip to Malaysia. I have a teapot set from Thailand. And, I have a couple of others. But, I somehow haven’t bought any lately.
Other things I’d love to collect more of, but don’t have the money or space for include: watering cans, boxes, baskets, bottles, stationery…
I also used to collect stamps. I started when I was about 10. But, I somehow lost my drive for this over the last few years. Perhaps, the fact that I haven’t really been in to snail mail letter writing like I used to be may have something to do with this loss.
What about you? Do you have a collection? If you do, what do you like collecting? If you don’t have a collection yet, what would you be interested in collecting?

I also have a very unhealthy addiction to sunglasses. I can not stop myself from buying them. I once scammed some dude in a bar, for his very ugly mirrored 1983 variety of sunglasses. I just couldn’t help myself. I HAD to have them. I have built a little shrine around them.

My main collection would be that of postcards. They have to have been sent for it to count! Other than that, I collect some 80’s paraphernalia such as Carebears, Rainbow Brite dolls, and My Little Pony figurines. I love all things from my childhood.
Of course I am crazy about pens and papers, but I don’t really count those as collections. It’s more of an obsession that I have my special papers and pens

I collect kitchenware it seems lol, I loooove going to homeware stores and looking at all the pretty kitchenware stuff, I usually resist unless there’s a sale and something I actually need. However there is a small stash of stuff under my bed that I haven’t actually used yet :S I bought this useful little thing last week: see this. It’s so cool! Saves you a mess with pouring oil into measuring spoons and also wastage. Apart from useful things like that… I don’t think I really collect much else, I have a large stuffed toy collection, mainly winnie the pooh stuff, in boxes at my mum house. That was more of an investment though, lol, I’m waiting till I have kids to get them out again. I’m really into craft stuff, but mostly I give away whatever I’ve made. I also have a stationary obsession, just like Kari’s
I love new notebooks and nice pens! There’s nothing like writing on the first page on the first day of class, when you have hopes and dreams of being organised that semester and never starting an assignment the night before it’s due tehe.

I used to collect Romance novels by Virginia Henley and Jayne Anne Krentz/Amanda Quick, Julie Garwood and Susan Johnson. Still have my Garwood and Johnson collections, but have given some of the others away…
I collect Erotic/Erotic-Romance novels these days.

I used to collect bookmarks! Friends still give me bookmarks as presents now and I still appreciate them dearly. It’s been awhile since I pooled all the bookmarks I had together though.
I used to collect Dragonlance books. Sweet Valley too! They’re all still at my parents’ place. I don’t have the heart to throw them out.
Now, I collect Yoshi-related stuff. Yoshi’s the green dinosaur from the Mario Brothers game series. I have some figurines and a little stuffed toy.
I also collect magnets — I buy a souvenir from each country I visit.
There ar a lot more trinkets I collect (Good Luck Bear stuff, nice pens, etc.) but Yoshi and the magnets are the ones most obvious at home.

I love the teapot photo! And a fun topic too.
I collect a few things: Department 56 Village pieces - get one new piece each Christmas; Boyd’s Bears - just have a few but really love them; USA flag items - I have a whole wall full of them.
Also, find myself drawn to pitchers. Not sure why, just think they are so cool. Oh, and I’m *not* counting my scrapbooking supplies, because I really will use them someday.

Hi Shai,
I have to say craft supplies are right up there on the top of the list of collectables for me. Mostly beads & findings, but I also like pens, stationary and that kind of thing. I’m amassing quite a collection these days; in particular gemstone beads. I have this passion for stones.
