10 Things I’m Thankful For This Week

Day 124 - Project 365 - 3rd May 08 : A ROSE BY ANY OTHER NAME...

In the spirit of International “Thank You” Week - and the desire to keep blogging more often, I’d like to share with you these things that I’m thankful for this week. I know I could probably make this list a bit longer. But, I’m quite fond of the number 10 when it comes to lists. So, here you go —

1) Great ideas like: Drawing Day (mark the date: 7th June) and Good Tree.

2) People who take the time to thank and comfort others. Generosity. And Gratitude.

3) Great food; family meals at home (no matter how chaotic!).

4) Online friends and community; “real life” friends… for supporting me in many special, unexpected ways.

5) Feeling inspired by folks like Sandra Magsamen, Lauren Child, and Keri Smith.

6) Finding some time to read books, do a bit of “proper writing”, a little art-making, and plenty of dreamstorming.

7) My work, which is a great way to learn, grow, and feel blessed.

8 ) My husband, who takes care of a lot of things that I’m not too fond of doing - bills, taxes, and all sorts of other stuff.

9) My kids, who make me laugh and feel overwhelmed with love and pride - everyday.

10) The Beauty of Now. The Treasure of Yesterday. The Promise of Tomorrow.

What are you thankful for this week? And, have you already thanked someone lately?

What Do You Collect?

Day 75 - Project 365 - 15th Mar 08 : ASIAN TEAPOTGadgets, books, and art/craft materials are my biggest buying temptations. In the gadgets department, photography gear and craft gadgets are on the top of my list at the moment.

But, other than these ‘usual suspects’, I have the tendency to get attracted to certain items when I see them too. I’m always looking at and purchasing candles, for example. I love buying them in different shapes, sizes and scents. I even enjoy looking at handcrafted candles from different countries that I visit.

Teapots, for some reason, is another object that I find interesting. I’m not sure if my mom influenced me on this one. But, I definitely love the look of them. I’d be buying more teapots if I could. At this time, though, I only have half a dozen or so in my collection. The photo of the teapot you see here is from a trip to Malaysia. I have a teapot set from Thailand. And, I have a couple of others. But, I somehow haven’t bought any lately.

Other things I’d love to collect more of, but don’t have the money or space for include: watering cans, boxes, baskets, bottles, stationery…

I also used to collect stamps. I started when I was about 10. But, I somehow lost my drive for this over the last few years. Perhaps, the fact that I haven’t really been in to snail mail letter writing like I used to be may have something to do with this loss.

What about you? Do you have a collection? If you do, what do you like collecting? If you don’t have a collection yet, what would you be interested in collecting?
