Just Another Year…

Last week was my “birthday week”. Yes folks, I just turned 32. And, a few people have gone out of their way to make the occasion special for me. Nice.

There was the bowling evening with friends. A scrumptious dinner another night at a Japanese restaurant (which is now my favourite place to eat Ebi Tempura). Pressies from hubs. Birthday cards from family, friends and colleagues. Email and personal greetings. Phone calls. A surprise birthday cake. And, a surprise floral delivery at home from a dear workmate.

So, in spite of some not-so-nice things that happened during the week (and the actual birthday itself!), I am left feeling grateful for everything that loved ones, friends and colleagues have done. I am always in awe at how selfless, generous and caring people can be.

And yes, even if sometimes, good things don’t come from people and places that we expect them from, they can still happen if we allow to open ourselves up to receive such goodness from unexpected sources.

To all the wonderful sources of goodness in my life (both unexpected and otherwise): THANK YOU. I wish I can do for you what you have so graciously done for me. And, I hope that you will be blessed with a bounty of goodness in your life too.
