Sister Time

Sasha ManuelAfter nearly 3.5 years of not seeing each other, my younger sister arrived in Australia today around mid-afternoon, to stay with me for almost 3 months. It’s her first time in Oz and I’m happy to show her the world I live in now.

It’s strange, though - being together again after hardly spending time with each other for the past few years. For nearly 6 years since I left home, I’ve only seen her twice: once for two weeks whilst I was living in Singapore (nearly 4 years ago, I think). Then again, when I went back home for a week during my brother’s wedding some 3+ years ago.

Now, she’s here. And, I’m teasing her like crazy about finding her a boyfriend. Any ideas or suggestions? Haha.

Anyway, this should be good. :-)

    Hi Shai,

    Now, I know you’re kidding :-)
If what I see is a pic of your sister she doesn’t have to “look” for a boyfriend LOL… there ought to be a line forming as we speak.

Anyhoo - enjoy the time together, make the absolute most of every moment.

    Mark

with all those degrees and responsibilities, and accomplishments and activities, she definitely will need a psychiatrist and will spend years telling herself it was all worth it while trying to find her “real self,” amid major bouts of depression, and in her old age she will be all alone because she has outperformed everybody around her and they are all jealous, and think she is stuck up and does not have a life.

Mark: No, really. I’m not kidding. Maybe that’s part of the problem. Guys might be thinking she’s already taken or something? Hmmm…

    Lei: LOL! :-D
Christine: Yes, I read about that and you guys are lucky. My sis is still testing the waters to see if she’d be interested in migrating here too — or if it’s even possible.

    Reclusivegirl: Thanks! :-)
    EuroYank: Huh?! >:(

AnP and Vangie: Ahhhh… you two are just way too nice. Thanks. :-D

    Hi Shai,

I’ve been reading your Blog. As a writer, teacher, trainer and strong interest in psychology and human development, I’m seeking out other people with similar talents to see what direction to take my career. Currently stuck in Thailand doing some intersting work and although there’s a beach, I’m sure Australia has more to offer.

I, like Mark, find it hard ot believe your sister would have any problems finding a good man. Although, I have heard and often belive myself that beautiful women are considered already taken or intimidate the shy, good guys. What’s your take on that with your background?

Hope your sister-time together is wonderful and she engjoys Australia. I’ll keep reading soem of your blogs - they’re very interesting. Take care, and if she’s still having trouble meeting good guys, email me.

Jayvee: Yes, we’re going back for Christmas and she did mention about meeting up with you. I’m looking forward to it! We’d probably bore her out of her mind with talks of blogs and bloggers. :-)
