One of the ways that I use to try to find out who links to my blog is to check my Technorati linkbacks. Lately though, I’m realising that this isn’t the best way. You see, I don’t know about you, but 8 times out of 10, Technorati is broken for me. And, on moments when it does work, I often find that it is not entirely accurate.
Now, I’m trying to find out who actually links to ShaiCoggins.com as part of a blogroll (or something similar). So, instead of asking Technorati, I decided that I’d ask the readers/visitors directly instead.
The reason I’m asking?
Well, one main reason is that I would like to compile a list of individuals who have been linking here as a way to say thanks. Hopefully, I’d be able to send them (you) some linkback lovin’ too.

Are you intending to have a blogroll? I can’t see one here. I am finding the whole blogroll thing a bit tantalising, in terms of ‘pro blogging’.I notice that some bloggers don’t have blogrolls, presumably on the basis that they don’t want to encourage people to go elsewhere. Interested in your views on that - and congrats on the spread in the Tiser!

Really? Technorati isn’t reliable? Anyway, I have you on my blogroll… besides that I like your blog, it’s also my way of thanks because I learned how to blog through about your about.com site.

I don’t get your question about Technorati. I’m referring to the kind of open blogroll list of sites which some bloggers have displayed. Thank you for the kind words, but it must have been someone else on About.com as I have not had a column ther.

First of all, thanks for the congrats on the ‘Tiser story.
On blogrolls - I generally encourage them. But, it IS a personal choice. I don’t want a massive one on my blogs as it can get really messy. But, I’ve been considering adding a modified blogroll here at ShaiCoggins.com. That’s partly why I started this “project” of finding out people who links to my blog. I’m not a big fan of link exchanges (’link to me so I link back to you’ kind of thing) - but I still want to acknowledge the people who genuinely added me to their blogrolls and say thanks.
On Technorati: ‘not sure what you mean about the question. Did I post a comment or send an email on this?

On Technorati - Well, I really am keen on it. I’ve given it “top marks” for 2 straight years (Top Blog Tools of 2004 and 2005). But, lately, my experiences with it have been very disappointing. That’s why unless something changes in the next few months, I don’t think it’ll make my 2006 list.

Ah, no, you’re not on my journal one, but I’m still getting things figured out over there. Your site certainly doesn’t show up as updated on My Yahoo page, though. It always shows nothing for the last three days, yet whenever I just check anyway there is nearly always something new. Weird or it just doesn’t work on My Yahoo for some reason. Anyway, I’m looking at who to include in my blogroll soon.

my trackback isn’t working, however ;( we’re using wordpress which i see others here are so dunno. i’m sure i did it right, maybe our admin has them disabled, but we receive them from others so dunno.

Hey Shai,
It’s been a very long time and I seriously doubt you’ll recall who I am. Back in the days of Ryze, when it could still be called ‘Cosmopolitan’, we met on one of those female power forums.
I was impressed with your talents way back then but you’ve certainly moved forward in leaps and bounds since then.
I now live in the UK, South Wales to be exact. A huge challenge in itself after Hope Valley, South Australia.
Anyway, it was great to stumble upon your site and yes, you’re on my blogroll!
