A “Surprise” Baby Shower

"Surprise" Baby Shower Collage

If I can write a tip on how to ruin your own surprise party, my advice will be: Flatly refuse to leave the house no matter what. Heh. :-D
Seriously, though, I’m sooooo touched and grateful to my friends (w/ input from hubby) who planned this party for weeks. I was surprised. Only the surprise bit had to come earlier - and differently - than planned.

You see, hubby had to spill the beans half an hour before the guests were due to arrive because I was feeling unwell and wanted to stay in bed. So, he had to say something like: “Look, Shai, you really ought to get up NOW. Please get showered and dressed because a lot of people are coming to our house and I know you wouldn’t want to greet them unprepared.”

He was right. And, I was thankful.

I never had a baby shower before. And, I never had a surprise party planned for me ever.

Never mind that I ruined part of that surprise. ;-)
But, yeah… I was really, really pleased. And, I had a fantastic time. It was great to catch up with some people I haven’t seen for a while. And, it was wonderful to know that I’ve got people in my life right now who cares enough to do something so special.

I am humbled.

And, very happy.

midnightbunny: Thanks. yeah, I think it was a good party. :-)
Sasha: Hah! Nice and loose, so it was a good maternity top. ;-) We did manage to video some of it. But, not the surprise bits. :-)
Junnie: Hehe. Yeah, I think my hubby must’ve known I’d be too vain to come out looking disheveled. Heh. ;-) Anyway, just posted the countdown in another blog entry. Thanks!

    Ajith: Huh?!
