When I first learned about Illustration Friday a few weeks ago, I got very excited. It’s a great project with plenty of very inspirational participants. How can I help myself from taking part?

My first IF attempt was on the topic of Tranquility:

Tranquility

Then, I did one on Empty:

Empty

And, the third one is on Wisdom:

Wisdom 101: Look Before You Leap.

The first picture is done with pen and watercolour washes. A style I’m quite comfortable with. Although, when I painted that picture, it was a while since I last held my brushes.

The second picture is one of my first attempts at digital painting. It’s quite feeble, I know. But, I was happy to continue learning and growing. And, very excited about the new medium of digital art making.

The third picture is a digital illustration. Another feeble attempt. It makes me feel like giving up the idea of doing any illustrations at all. But then, I want to keep reminding myself that I didn’t used to paint or draw nice things either. So, if I can improve my painting and drawing, I should be able to improve with illustrating too, right?

Anyway, I’m looking forward to participating in more IFs. That’s why I’ve alloted a section in this blog for this practice.
