Here’s my fourth entry for Illustration Friday. I was soooo tempted to post an old painting I created about 3-4 years ago called Hold On To Dreams. It suits the topic, and it’s easy just to post it. But, I tried to remind myself that the reason I’m doing IFs is not to simply post any old artwork. I want to use IF as a way to push myself to create new things.
I’ve been longing for my “real” studio. But lately, I can only manage to get as far as my digital studio. I work on the computer a lot, and so it’s just easier when everything I need is already in front of me.
This IF entry on “Dreams” is done with Corel Painter Essentials 2, mouse and Wacom tablet. It’s an attempt at creating digital mixed media (oil, collage, pencil). I’m not sure how I feel about this piece yet – but, that’s okay. I’m just glad I created something again. It’s always a pleasure to do and to make things. Besides, it’s just great that I’m learning more about digital painting.
