Goodbye, RedPaper?

Something’s wrong with my RedPaper account. I’ve tried emailing the owner/CEO Mike “Scoop” Gaynor about it. And, it’s been almost a month now and I still haven’t received a response.

So now, I decided to make a move.

For those of you who have no idea what RedPaper is all about, it’s a micropayment community site where you can sell practically anything you’ve created - poems, articles, digital images, photographs, CDs, videos, etc.

The idea is that you sign up for an account (and part with about US$3.40 to begin with and US$3 go in to your buying account ). Once you have an account, you start posting your wares. You price your wares accordingly. Say, 2 cents for a poem or 10 cents for an article. If someone sees your work and they want to read it, they pay you the amount you requested.

Interesting concept, but what’s the incentive? Dimes and nickels just don’t see like they matter that much. Why not just subsitute smiley faces or something?

Not sure what is wrong with your account. I never recieved an email from you. I do use a spam blocker call SpamArrest. Perhaps you got hung up there. In anyevent, if you let me know whatthe problem is I’ll try and fix it. PS: I just sent you your CashOut.

Later,

Mike

Lei: It depends on the number of readers/buyers you get. Dimes and nickels aren’t much, yes.
But, multiply that to a hundred or more… and… yeah. Well, not that that happens a lot. :p
I did earn a substantial “extra change” one time experimenting with micropayments. But, it was
a different business model and it soon went kaput. Anyway, I’m still keen on looking at this
as a way to market some of my content. But, I’m still learning…
