Future Visions: Diptych Paintings

Yes, it’s finished. Finally.

Well, actually, I finished it last week. But, I didn’t get the chance to update here until now.

After my last diptych project update, I only did two more steps to finish the paintings:

1) First, I outlined the circles using a Zip Lock bag filled with white gesso (as if I’m decorating a cake). Then, I just added gesso to the remaining white part of the canvases. I scraped the gesso to make linear marks using a big toothed comb. Then, I let the whole thing dry overnight.

2) As soon as the gesso was dry, I painted the outlines of the circles, overlapping with some of the gesso outline. The colours I used were Burnt Sienna and Renaissance Gold.

This is what the final piece looks like:

And, this is what the paintings look like hanging at the wall of my lounge:

So, yeah. After almost two years, I’m done with these canvases. Now, on to the next project. ;-)

Hey, good on you for getting it finished. And you can say you painted it yourself. Cool work. ;-)
