WordPress database error: [You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'WHERE post_status = 'publish' AND post_type = 'post' AND ID != 40 ORDER BY RAND(' at line 1]
SELECT ID, post_title, post_date, comment_count FROM WHERE post_status = 'publish' AND post_type = 'post' AND ID != 40 ORDER BY RAND() LIMIT 5

So, I’ve managed to import some of my old blog entries from WordPress, thanks to PapaScott’s PHP WordPress export script.

It wasn’t a smooth migration — some files did not export properly; some files did not import at all. But, it certainly helped a lot. So, thanks Papa Scott.

Now, I just need to re-organise this site and improve the template that came as a default with EE.

    Hi Shai, Do you find Expression Engine better than WordPress? Which blogging software woul you recommend to business bloggers?

    Hi, Priya! I’m holding off on my final verdict on this, as I’m still poking around EE.

    The thing is, it depends on what you’re looking for.

    Also, WP is opensource (free) while EE is paid software.

    Both are applicable to business bloggers. And, so far, I think EE has some more advanced capabilities than WP.
