Early in February this year, I mentioned the idea of making a punch art collage. This was inspired by Ali Edwards’ Butterfly Punch Collage.
Well, months passed and I still haven’t managed to get myself a butterfly craft punch. So, today I decided that it doesn’t matter. I’ll just make a punch art collage with whatever craft punch shape that I’ve got. So, I finally managed to try it out.
- Store-bought black Frame w/a 3-window mat (approx. 4 x 12 in) & extra foam matting, for a shadow box effect
- Red wool paper for the background texture
- Different pieces of glitter cardstock (for the flowers)
- Double-sided tape
- Dot foam adhesive
- Marvy daisy craft punch (super and jumbo size)
Nice to do something creative again. Even if it all took just under 30 minutes!
If you try to create your own punch art collage, do share links and/or pics here or at the forum. Thanks!

I always look longingly at all the scrapbooking stuff when I go to Spotlight. I am not at all interested in scrapbooking itself but I love all the paper and punches and stamps and decals. Good on your for taking some of that stuff and creating a totally different form of art with it.

It’s gorgeous - I love it! I’m in the process of working on some art projects while I’m getting my home decorated and unpacking, so it’s good to have some inspiration!

Thanks for the inspiration Shai. This is going on my list of crafty things to do with the help of my cricut :).

Melissa - Thanks. Glad you like it! I can’t take all the credit, though. It’s Scrapbooking Queen, Ali Edwards, who inspired me to do this. I like scrapbooking - but I enjoy doing it my own way. Can never follow someone else’s layouts & style.
But yeah, those gadgets are sooo yummy.
Kari - Yay. Sounds good to me! And happy to have inspired you, my friend!
Dexie - My pleasure. And thanks. I am sooo envious of that cricut of yours. Ever since seeing your review on it, it has been on my wishlist. Not holding my breath yet, though.
