Melissa W: It's funny how the feeling of guilt comes in to picture once we have families, huh? But, I learned that a happy mum/wife will equal to happy kids/husband. And, connecting to what makes you happy doesn't always mean you're becoming selfish, right? ;-)

So yeah, I hope you continue to find ways to follow your bliss(es). :-)

Shannon: That's a very good point! During tough times, finding our true source of happiness is vital.

Anyway, thanks so much for dropping by. And for your wonderful words. I hope to get to know you better too.

All the best!

KerryJ: Very, very true! Thanks for that. Reminds me of this other quote:

"Happiness is not
a state to arrive at,
but a manner of travelling."
- by Margaret Lee Rumbeck

Really good to remember that at the great scheme of things, that many of us should probably be happier than we are. :-)

That's a great quote, Cherie. Thanks for sharing. And yeah - Blissology does seem to have a nice ring to it, doesn't it? ;-) Have a good one!

Sasha: Strangely enough, being mindful of one's happiness isn't as 'obvious' as some might think. I wish you well with your quest to bliss. :-)

For many years my personal motto was "Follow your bliss". It fell by the wayside as my focus shifted from being on me and my needs to those of others (my husband and children mainly.) I'm not entirely ready to go back to that way of being before (it was pretty selfish after all) but I do feel a need to reconnect with what makes me happy.

I think "Bliss" is going to be big for lots of people this year. I think (and hope) that the time is right for everyone to start finding out the REAL things that bring them happiness and joy.

I love your blog and open writing. I love that you find a "word of the year." How do you decide on your "word" anyway? I think I'd like to do that as well.

Obviously I found you here because you linked to my online store, so thanks for that. I've read several of your past entries though and suspect I will be back!

Thank you for sharing such a lovely, personal blog post!

I became a lot happier when I realised that happiness wasn't a destination -- it is a byproduct of a healthy outlook on life and constructive attitudes. Most of usl live in the world we've created for ourselves and in a prosperous country at peace we have the power to have the lives we want.
