Beating Bloggers’ Block Tip: Check Your Categories Archive

Whenever I find myself stuck and wondering what to blog about, one of the things I do is check my categories archive. How does this help me?

#1 – Often, I look at categories and the entries below them. If I see that a certain category doesn’t have as many entries as the others, I try to think of things to blog about using that topic. If I use this technique with my current category archive, I will need to blog about these topics soon: gadgets, arts/crafts, creativity/life enrichment, podcasting, current affaird, literature/books, writing and travel.

#2 – A quick look at my categories and entries can remind me to continue writing about a particular topic. Perhaps, expound on it — or update it.

#3 – I also use my categories and previous entry titles as “word (or phrase) prompts”. For example, if I see the title ‘Radar’s Up on Podcasting‘, it might trigger something in my mind. Perhaps, a blog entry about using radars?

What about you? Do you experience bloggers’ blocks? How do you battle it out?

I do get stuck at times but I poke around the web and finally come up with something that strikes my fancy to write about. I do like to take famous quotations and discuss what they mean to me or expound upon them. Also googling writers + block + random + help usually brings up a number of helpful pages like yours:)
