Hi, Kay. Yes, not another one! Heh. But, I seriously don't know if I'd call it a 'passion' just yet. But, it's definitely bubbling in the back of my mind at the moment. Also, just allowing myself to be open to possibilities and opportunities. ;-) In any case, thanks for the lead! I know that the more I get to know people who're actually doing this would help me to decide about where I want to take this. :-)

Wow- not another new passion!! Film making sounds an awesome ambition and it sounds as though you have a better grounding than most. A friend's son is into film/video and is getting into cinematography gradually- he does general roustabout work as clapper holder and best boy etc. He and his girlfriend, who is into makeup/costume, might be worth talking to. He's done the Hamilton College Media course, and worked on various films (including the recent Rachel Ward-directed one), TV series like McLeod's Daughters, commercial and short film projects and won several prizes- he's about 26, so not a kid!
As for the sick kids- that's just an awful phase to go through- hopefully they'll build their resistance and will improve with time- I hope you're not stuck with them being ill every winter for years as it will be difficult to work outside of home! Mothers just seem to get landed with care of the sick, even when they've got the same thing themselves!

Hi, Rachel. Your background in theatre explains your flair for storytelling. :-) And thanks for the support too! I'm glad to know that you're happy to listen to my filmmaking tales. I just hope I don't disappoint! Heh. Anyway, I don't know how far I'd take this interest. At this stage, I just want to know what it's like and experience the process to see if it's something that will stick. I'm just looking forward to learning as much as I can about it. I guess, that's the beauty of being a writer. All experience is good experience. They're all writing fodder, isn't it? :-D

Oh, Kari! If you've got the funds, don't fight the urge. Even a cheap-ish Flip video camcorder is better than nothing. Some things are just worth recording in moving pictures, methinks. ;-) But then, maybe that's just me. :-D And thanks for the support. I can't tell you just how much I hesitated sharing this idea, as it's a bit scary to fall flat on my face in public. But, I thought that maybe, I'd stand a better chance of *not* failing if I shared the process that I'm going through. In any case, thanks again. I know a fellow Renaissance Soul like you can definitely understand. :-)

I used to do a fair bit of stuff in theatre, and from time to time I wonder if the film industry is fun, but at the moment I'm having fun with writing. Not sure if I'll ever pursue the film industry properly, but I'll enjoy reading about your adventures, wherever they take you :)

I've been arguing with myself for the past three years about getting a camcorder, and somehow have still not done it! While my interests lie no further than home movies, I can see how you could become so captivated by the process. It would be fantastic, and I firmly believe in giving in to all my interests - especially when there's much to learn! I wish you best of luck in your film making journey of discovery :)
