52WoC #48: Your New Year Challenge

52 Weeks of Blog CommunityAs some of you might recall, one of my long, ongoing traditions is my “New Year Special Goals Time”. That is, a time for me to sit down and to review how I managed to accomplish the year’s (previous year’s) goals… and to set myself some fresh goals for the new year.

Two years ago, I added the selection of my Super Fab Word of the Year in to this tradition (more on this in another blog post!).

Since TODAY was my first word-of-the-year in 2008, I set myself several daily (as well as weekly and monthly) challenges throughout the year. One of the things that came up that year was starting this 52 Weeks of Blog Community challenge. And, due to drastic life changes and such, I haven’t been able to finish 52WoC within a year as planned. And, as some of you know, I’ve nearly given up on this too. But, thanks to many Studio Notes readers and 52WoC supporters, we’ve managed to keep going.

I think that’s one of the greatest things about having blogging buddies and communities. They help us to set challenges for ourselves — and enable us to keep going even when things get a bit tough.

So now, we’re on task #48. Just four more tasks after this and we’ll be celebrating the end of this challenge that had brought so many amazing things to this blog (and my life in general).

And, I thought that this might be a good time to share the task of setting yourself your very own New Year Challenge. Do you have one (or more) for 2010? What do you wish to accomplish this year? Do you have one for your blog and/or your life in general?

It doesn’t matter what the challenge might be. It’s really all up to you.

To join this task, just leave a comment right here. You can share with us a link to a blog post that you’ve written about your new year challenge. Or, you can simply write about your challenge in the comment section. Or, you can just say something like this in the comment section: “Yes, I’ve set myself a challenge this year!” — and you can keep your challenge a secret if you want to (although I highly recommend that you write it down somewhere, even if no one else can read it).

Anyway, I know I owe you all a couple of round-ups for the last two tasks. Since I’m still overseas as I write this (with limited internet connection), I’m hoping to catch-up on the round-ups some time when I get back to Australia.

In any case, I look forward to reading all about your 2010 challenges!

Life does have a habit of getting in the way of our best laid plans sometimes doesn’t it? I certainly hadn’t planned spending most of 2009 pregnant!

I did my usual new year post but I don’t tend to set specific resolutions – instead I set rough goals and lay out ideas of what I’d like to achieve if I get the chance.

I journaled my word for the year, but haven’t gotten a post up for it yet as I am still out of state. I went with ‘believe’ for mine :-) That in itself I suppose is a challenge for myself as I struggle with believing in myself a lot, and I think I could definitely improve it!

Enjoy the rest of your holiday!

Hi Shai,
I’ve joined a ‘make something every day’ challenge on Facebook. It doesn’t need to be an entire thing, just working on some of it counts. And photo record needs to be taken each day. I pretty much do this now, so I’m hoping it’s an incentive to be even more productive. I should probably set myself a writing one, too, but I’m waiting for the start of the school year. ;-)

Happy New Creative Year Shai!

I’ve got both goals, challenges, words and ideas for the new year but right now there is oh so many things I don’t know where to start. One though is to write more and be a bit more efficient when I do it – not surfing while trying to write a piece for example. I hope I can become better at concentrating this month. :-)

XOXOX

I wrote about my resolutions in a previous post. Blog wise, I want to challenge myself to blog daily and to respond to each and every comment.
