Hey!
My dish is just slightly different from Janice's....
Last night, for some reason the strawberries were put in the freezer. Today they thawed partially but are still pretty frozen. I took the mostly-frozen strawberries, cut them into thirds, placed them in a bowl and put around two to two and a half tablespoons of sugar in the bowl. Then I put Half-and-Half in and.... Oh my gosh, I swear the world turned beautiful when I took a bite. My eternal dessert. ;)

I used to work with a Thai woman who would dip strawberries in this mix of sugar and hot chili flakes -- a really surprising delight!

Hi, Heather. Yes, it's definitely quite an experience. Really makes me wish we can grow more things in the garden and such. Anyway, I do enjoy going to Hahndorf. Nice place indeed. :-) Good to know that you've been there before!

Hi Shai,
Oh yum, I don't think there's anything quite like picking your own strawberries and the things you can do with them. I quite just eating them as they are. ;-)

Isn't Hahndorf a lovely place? I've been there. ;-)

Eton Mess - Put some chopped strawberries in a bowl, top with a pile of crushed meringue, then dollop on a heap of thick cream. Yum yum yum!
