  1. Very nice points Shared there Shai..

    One more to include -
If your contest gets sponsors, promote them too if you can, and notify them when you start and end the contest. As they are helping you to make the contest bigger with added prizes.

Random.org tool is a really good tool and i have been using it for selection of random winners in my contests :)

  2. I never thought to have a contests page. Great idea! I think I will get to work on that!

  3. My tips…
-I send a personal Thanks for Entering email to every entrant. Its a lot of work, but I get some good relationships built because of the repoire. It also helps me weed out anyone who put in a fake email address (so that I can’t contact them later to get their mailing addy).
-I give the winners 2-3 days to get back with me, otherwise the prize process can get too lengthy when people don’t get back with you.
-I always include a link to my RSS and email subscription service in the giveaway post. This way, you might get some new subscribers. :)
-Close the comments after the contest closes, otherwise you’ll have people trickling in for months after. ;)

Ok, I think that’s it. Thanks for all your tips Shai. Great work! And it’s good to have you back.

  4. Thanks for the tips. I think I used most of them: added a page (A conversation starter), and specific questions for readers to answer in the post. Just one I didn’t use: keep it simple. I may have to reevaluate this, but I’m looking for some conversation, so comments of substance are key.

Not quite sure how to add the RSS link per Jami’s suggestion. I’ll have to explore that.

  5. Great point of view!, there’re two true innevitable things, the legal issues and the random services.
It’s great to find information like this, that help to improvement your raffle or contest.
    Thanks,

  6. Thanks, Lynn and Gilberto!

  7. Thank you for the ideas. But I was wondering if you sample questions for them to answer?
